Mustang 45th Anniversary Show

Christopher, Dale, Gary Henderson and myself went to the Mustang 45th Anniversary in Birmingham, Alabama last weekend and there was an unbelievable amount of cool rides there. Always been a big fan of the Mustang and this show "gave me the fever" (sorry Dee Anne!). They also had racing, drifting and an open track event which was neat to listen too and watch.
I tended to look more at the newer (79-up) cars this trip since Christopher will be driving soon and he has the fever almost as bad as me! Look out Smyrna!
Here are just a few pics of the hundreds of cars there. Enjoy!

LifePoint Church

Well, it's finally officially. fbcsmyrna is now dba LifePoint Church.
I believe we will look back years from now and see this day as a major turning point in the life of our church. As Pat said during the message "we are about pointing people to a Christ centered life".
Can't wait to hear reaction from the folks at LP.

If Today Was Your Last Day

It's been awhile since i posted due to the busy-ness of the Christmas production at church(I'll post about that later), and all the other "life" stuff that's been happening. Hopefully I won't be away for quite so long.

Anyhow...

I've been listening to the new NickelBack CD and there's a song on it I think could make a pretty neat focus song leading into a message on Sunday (hint, hint Micah!). It has several "points to ponder" that stop and make you think. Of course, its the only song on the album that could be played in church!
The band hasn't made an official video of the song yet, but this one has the lyrics you can follow along with.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

Improv - Progressive Rock style

Doing a little surfing for some rock videos and thought I would post up this section of a Dream Theater song called Beyond This Life. It is unbelievable how Petrucci and Portnoy compliment and match rhythm's with each other near the end of John's solo. Then there's the keyboard/drum solo trade-offs later. Amazing. Can't wait for the next show.
I sure was hoping they would play this(the solo section) when they started the song in Atlanta earlier this year. Oh well, I'll always have the DVD.
