Phil, Sean and I went thru "Hail and High Water" literally on Tuesday in route to the "RUSH" concert. Much praying was taking place while passing thru Chattanooga. We were fearing a rain out but it ended up being an incredible show with no more storms.
After arriving back in Smyrna about 3:30am, I got 4 hours sleep, then drove the family to Pigeon Forge for a few days of fun. We did all the stuff you have to do while there. A couple of rounds of Putt-Putt golf, go karts at The Nascar SpeedPark as well as shop and eat way too much food. We found a Japanese Hibachi grill that's almost as good as Minami's(Nick is still the best chef).
My parents, my sister and her son came up on Thursday and spent the rest of the weekend with us. It was great to just hang with family with no schedule, no computer work, no church work, just kickin back.
My nephews dad was not able to make it so Nate and I became great racing buddies. Maybe Tim can make the next trip.
One thing we did while in Dollywood was go to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Micah posted a clip of Gerald Williams plaque when he and Ashley visited and I thought I would do the same. Gerald is the grandfather of our Technical director, David Cox.
He is a member of The Melody Boys Quartet. We should make it mandatory for all visitors of Dollywood to post up pics of themselves with his plaque while at the park. It's really quite an honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I know David, Judy and his family are proud.
We came about as close as possible to getting t-boned in the side of the van on our way to Dollywood. I guess the older guy next to us thought all lanes were U-turn lanes and he was going for it. My eyesight may be going but at least my reflexes are still there. Fortunately we made it unscathed.
Here's a few pics of the weeks activities:
